Apparently, today was a day for scarab beetles. I spent more time thinking through ideas than making anything, which I’m fine with.

I prepped a linoleum block for carving with a pencil drawing. It went through a few iterations on the block itself, so there’s a bit of a palimpsest effect going on with traces of erased drawings showing through. Carving it is up next, which may or may not happen any time soon.

I also drew a pattern for an applique scarab and cut out fabric to test it. The sewing part will have to wait until I set up a sewing machine.
