#CreateNovember recap

It’s been a while since I posted to this blog. Obviously, posting every day for #CreateNovemeber didn’t work out, but I’m okay with that. I liked it enough that I’d like to do something similar next year but with slightly different parameters. The part I found most difficult to keep up with was the requirement to post every day. Posts once or twice a week would have worked out better.

I did end up doing something creative every day in November. It was difficult to find a balance between creative exploration for its own sake and finishing things. Or more accurately, it was easier to post about finished things, but I found myself more interested in exploration. I focused on learning tools I hadn’t used before, such as Twine, and refreshing my knowledge of tools I hadn’t used in a while, such as setting up a Java development environment to brush up on my Java skills.

To round out the month in terms of finished projects, I did end making my mom two scarves and a hat. The red scarf below was modified from this pattern. The other scarf and the hat I made up as I went along.

And as a bit of a coda, I did end up finishing the pseudosphere I was working on, though not in November:

I finished it at a holiday party in a house that was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, which afforded the opportunity to take a photo of it in a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed fixture:
