Tuesday Plarn

I’ve been noticing lately that I’ve acquired a lot of Barnes & Noble plastic bags. I don’t like throwing them away for two reasons: 1) it’s bad for the environment to throw plastic bags away. 2) Barnes & Noble bags are very sturdy, and I like to use them for other things. I decided to use some of the bags to make plastic yarn, or “plarn” using this tutorial.

I’ve tried to make plarn before, but I always managed to rip the plastic. The sturdiness of the Barnes & Noble bags helps to keep them from ripping when I joined the yarn, so today’s experiment was a success. I turned two bags into a tiny ball of yarn. I’m probably going to add more to it before trying to make anything out of it.
