Two crochet projects

I finished two projects this week: a pair of fingeress gloves for my mom and a crochet ball made of granny squares and triangles.

My mom asked me to make her some fingerless gloves to keep her hands warm while she does her handcrafting. I broke my #CreateNovember rules for the gloves by buying the yarn and the pattern, but my mom is worth it. I didn’t put the band on the pattern, mostly because when I made them, I found that I liked the gloves without the band. The pattern worked up quickly, and they’re pretty and warm. I’ll end up making some for myself sooner or later.

I also made a ball out of squares and triangles. I was looking up crochet soccer balls, which are made up of hexagons and pentagons, and came across a version of a ball like this (I didn’t make note of the page). I made a smaller one to start, and I like how it turned out. It would make a great toy for a toddler as it’s easy to hold and, given that it’s filled with fiber fill, really, really soft. A larger version would make a nice floor pillow.
